Between now and Friday 12th April you can have your say on proposals to introduce this training which will be mandatory for staff working in the health and care sectors.
The government wants to know how we can make sure that staff have the right training to understand the needs of people with a learning disability and autistic people. The consultation considers issues around the training and development that staff need so they can make reasonable adjustments to support these people.
The government is inviting you to say what you think about about its proposals on:
* the planned content of the training
* how the training should be delivered
* how to involve people with a learning disability and/or autism in the training
* how to mandate, monitor and evaluate the impact of training
The consultation will be of particular interest to:
* people with a learning disability and autistic people
* the families and carers of people with a learning disability or autistic people
* patient groups
* providers of health and social care services
The consultation closes at 11:59pm on Friday 12th April. If you'd like to have your say, here's the link: Learning Disability and Autism Training for Health and Care Staff
