The Down Syndrome Act: Call for Evidence
Would you like to help the government do its part to help people who have Down’s Syndrome and live in England enjoy a long, healthy and happy life? If so, you can join the consultation before the 8th November.
The Department of Health and Social Care is inviting people with Down’s Syndrome as well as their families and other supporters to share their thoughts and ideas about the key issues that should be covered in the statutory guidance that will accompany the Down Syndrome Act. The Act aims to ensure that health services, schools and other public bodies follow appropriate steps to meet the needs of children and adults with Down’s Syndrome.
The Call for Evidence will also look into the needs of people with other genetic conditions and learning disabilities.
This is a wonderful opportunity to help shape government policy. If you would like to get involved, here’s the link: The Down Syndrome Act
