The government published an easy-read version of the Mental Capacity (Amendment) Bill on the 7th February.

The government wants to make changes because many people have found that the rules in the Mental Capacity Act 2005 are hard to understand and they don't work very well.
The MCA is about looking after people safely if they cannot make decisions for themselves.
